Snuggles under Nate's new big-boy quilt. That's right ... at age nearly-2.5 Nate has graduated from the sleep sack. He's still comfy (and contained) in the crib, though will surely be excited to one day have a bigger bed to bounce around in.

remembering emily

Seven friends gathered in Vermont at snowy Farm & Wilderness to remember and celebrate Emily. We laughed and cried and told stories and cuddled babies and ate Mitty-cakes and missed our friend so, so much. Her death leaves holes of all different shapes and sizes in so many people's lives. New babies Malcolm and Cameron are Eloise's future friends, all three born into their new beginnings during the October to December time when Emily's life with us was ending. We will hold and treasure our memories of Emily forever and share them with Miles & Eloise as they get bigger. And try not to take for granted all of the little parts of daily life that make it special and hard, mundane and inspiring.
