giggles

It happens all of the time to Abigail . . . she's lying on her sheepskin playing with her giraffe and out of nowhere comes this big polar bear to give her some nuzzles.

froggy bath

Where's Abigail?
There she is!
Bathtime is so much more fun when you have a fuzzy froggy towel to dry off in afterwards.

Abigail is all clean! (And her parents are all wet!)
And while we're on a bathtime theme, a quick flashback to A's first bath at home, over five months ago now....she was so little!

o-baby

Intrigued by all the politics talk going on, Abigail spent some time weighing the issues and thinking through the various policy proposals . . . and after careful consideration, she's made her choice:

She's quite pleased with Obama's choice of Biden for running mate . . . but she does wish that her pal Miffy had been considered.

saucer

What a way to start the day!
Abigail loves this exersaucer . . . another hand-me-down from her super cousins, Emily & Natalie. And since A likes to stand up much more than she likes to sit, this should help give her parents' arms a rest!

her first notes

Abigail has always loved the piano, but this was the first time she actually put her hands to the keys.

She's good at adding harmony to her Papa's compositions....

Playing the piano can be really exciting!

wedding! friends, family, full moon, flights, five months!

What a weekend . . . we had a wonderful time at Uncle Dan and Aunt Anna's wedding in Providence! Abigail celebrated her five month birthday, took two more airplane rides (very successfully), saw lots of friends and family, and was a very festive wedding guest!

So many people to see, places to go . . . you have to catch a few z's whenever you can, like during the wedding photos....

There was lots of fun dancing, some of which Abigail participated in . . . half-snoozing in the Ergo of course - she must have had some interesting dreams that night!

Dinnertime with Lovey....serious business.

And of course, wedding guests have to stay fueled up for all of the action . . . we had some great meals, like this one at Louis Restaurant.

one dollar

In these uncertain economic times we'd like everyone to know that a dollar still buys something . . . like a cute mini rocking chair at a garage sale! Abigail still has a little growing to do before it fits, but hey!

For now, we're practicing sitting up, just not in chairs.

There is always fun floor time to be had with Papa.

And a reminder that it is possible (yet difficult) to capture Abigail in an unphotogenic moment. Good for a few laughs (laughing with A, not at her...)!

happy birthday grandma!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Here's Abigail, reminding her forgetful Mommy to call Grandma to wish her a happy birthday . . .
Gotcha....

good morning everyone!

Just sayin' hi....

pod on patio

Abigail's cousins Emily and Natalie have passed along lots of very cool toys and clothes that they've outgrown (thank you guys!) . . . but this must be one of the niftiest items . . .

The humidity has gone down a little bit and we actually want to sit on the patio, but mosquitoes remain a problem . . . not for long though with this handy dandy mosquito proof pod! Abigail and a bunch of her toys fit in there - perfect!

turtle time

Abigail enjoys spending time with her new friend, Turtle, a new pal from her Auntie Emily in CA!

giraffe vs abigail

This giraffe has met his match...

So I recently realized that my passport expired when Abigail was just a couple of weeks old when I had, oh, other things on my plate. The passport renewal process is not so complicated, the hardest part is finding time to go have passport pics taken. So when I finally got around to it I thought Abigail might as well get her passport too. We practiced some smiles before we left . . .

Her expression in the official resulting photo is more one of shock than of happiness, but we gave it our best shot. Because I still have (and wear) my beloved black fleece vest that I wore in my passport photo ten years ago I wore it again for this occasion. (This will give anyone who is not aware an idea of how much I love to go shopping...) We'll see if black vest is still around in another 10 years and we can really make it a tradition. By the way, doesn't A look cute in her summer outfit? (Thanks PJ and Sharon!) Something tells me she won't be wearing the same outfit when she has her next passport photo taken in five years!

foot in mouth

Friends, I think you know where this foot is headed . . .
