t-day weekend

Abigail had a great (yet poorly documented) first Thanksgiving. In the words of her cousin Natalie when she learned Abigail would be having sweet potatoes for dinner, "It's nice that Abigail can have something that the Indians ate..."

As you can see, A has been intent on squeezing in a lot of activity this weekend . . . . . . Keeping track of her pal, pink bunny.
. . . Reading FuzzyBee, an all time favorite.
. . . Going out to eat with her parents and grandparents.
Mmmmm brunch....
Abigail tried to stay focused on the task at hand . . . eating her lunch (which also included bread and avocado from adult meals), but it was hard, given all of the other things to look at . . .
Back at home, more time playing with grandma.
And some time for books.
Abigail takes a closer look . . .

silver rattle

Well, no pictures from Thanksgiving itself, but here are some from the days after Thanksgiving. Safe to say that Abigail is thankful for her silver rattle. She likes to tote it around like this:Still there . . .

brrrrrr

It's gotten chilly here . . . luckily A has her snowsuit (and Mommy) to keep her warm on walks.Back inside, Abigail zips around on the floor with her squeaky toy. "Hey guys, where's my hair bow, I can hardly see you through all these bangs."
"Look at how fast I can wiggle my arms! I'm practically flying!"

not napping

Someone isn't in the mood for naps today . .. This is Abigail celebrating in the pack-n-play after she convinced us to bring her downstairs earlier this morning when she wouldn't sleep during normal nap time. Now - after more playtime and breakfast - she's on try number two upstairs and still no sign of the zzzz's....just lots of funny mouthy noises. Maybe it is all the excitement of being 8 months + one week old today.

more kitchen time

Here's Abigail in the kitchen again, with the baby gates looming in the background, just waiting to be installed .. ..
Booey was there too of course .. . he's not really looking forward to baby gates.

And a different perspective than the normal floor view....

making dinner

Oh hi guys . . . don't mind me, I'm just looking for a good recipe for dinner tonight . . .
Hmmmm.... still looking . . ..
Oh! Found one! This one is good....
This is Abigail after Mommy wrestled the recipe away from her after she realized that A actually did want to eat the recipe....

busy times

UPDATE! This is Abigail saying "Welcome to the world Annie and Grace! I can't wait to meet you!"

Since Jamie is checking the blog while he's away, we thought we'd update him on some of our adventures here at home. If only all work travel was timed with grandparental visits . . . what a big help to have extra sets of hands to give hugs to Abigail and help out in so many ways!

Abigail showed us how to exersaucer.

She introduced her grandparents to the swings at the park.

She did some jumping.

Read lots of books!

Played the (mini) piano.

Went to the park with grandma and flashed her teeth.

Got to ride in the Ergo with her Grandad!

And got all bundled up for a chilly walk to the farmers market..... So we are surviving, and keeping busy (!!), but we are looking forward to having our sweetie/papa back home soon . . .. and unless someone else shows up with a camera to document Miz A's life over the next few days, we will share more photos when the camera returns from its overseas travel adventures... :)

pumpkin lovey

While it's still fall and all . . . here's our little pumpkin with a few of her bigger pumpkin friends ....

cheerio

So, we gave Abigail her first Cheerio...She wasn't sure what to think! . . . We'll keep trying every now and then until we get a smile!
Finally! She says . . . enough of those cheerios - I love sweet potatoes!

and still more oregon...

Here's Abigail in her great-great (great?) grandfather's rocking chair, having a good old time!
And her great-grandparents, the lovely and wonderful reason for our Oregon visit . . .
We went out to brunch...
Cousin Ben was there...
He is so silly!
Cousin Adam was there too... Abigail even showed us her teeth for this one...
And Cousin Emily too . . . it was fun for Abigail to pull her hair....
And a shot of Emily and little pup Penny.... the only one in the bunch who was junior to Abigail!
And, of course, Great Aunt Jennifer!
A's grandparents were there too .. . .
And the high chair that was borrowed for the occasion happened to be the childhood high chair of someone Abigail's mommy went to college with (thanks Ani!)
We introduced avocado while we were in Oregon .. . as you can tell, it was not a big hit. Sigh. Someday she'll love 'em!

more oregon

So, another day, another winery for Abigail . . .
Here we are, enjoying the tasting at King Estate .. . . what a good looking crowd.

Mom. Multitasking.

Oh Fuzzy Bee, how do I love thee . . . let me count the ways.
This is FUN!
Peek-a-boo with Uncle Dan...
