thomas!!

More photos to come but for now let it be known that our Day Out with Thomas in Baltimore this past weekend was very exciting! Unexpected mind blowing detail: Thomas *talked* and his facial expressions changed! Steam puffed out of his steam stack too.

choo choo party

Thomas had a sweet load to pull today .. the cupcake train!

Nate gets the train table warmed up before party guests arrive.  We had the party at a fun historic B&O Railroad Station ... Nate does love choo choos.

Train time for the 1 and 2 year old set.

Cupcakes!

Train station fun.

Eloisa & Abigail.  Big Sisters.

Back to the trains.

And then outside on the platform for real train viewing! (with Walter!)

Nate stands on the old baggage cart for a better view of the approaching train.  (Papa's office is in the background.)

Abigail gets away from it all in the old phone booth.

MORE TRAINS!  LOUD TRAINS!

Back home, Nate eats some lunch and plays with the great helicopter he got from G&G for his birthday!  Happy birthday to our big boy!

building museum

It was a good day to go to the National Building Museum.  Abigail told us that she'd never been on a train before (not true!) so we decided to go by Metro to refresh her memory.... Abby & Nate were both big fans of the Metro ride.

Another train whizzes past!

Nothing like seeing your same-old boring every-day commute through the eyes of a 3.5 year old!

Checking things out.

And then we arrived.... a fountain inside, oh my!

Nate checks out the giant legos and fellow toddlers.

Then Nate goes for a jog.

Abby built a super-cool, super-tall tower.

Nate did some building too.

Some serious room to roam.  Perfect for a chilly January day.

So.  Much.  Running.

And climbing!  We'll be back soon, Building Museum.

train travel

Abigail took her first train trip . . . and she quite enjoyed it!

Waiting for the train to board got a little dull . . .

But once we were moving it was tons of fun!

There was also some time for resting . ..

And then, look! She's in Delaware!
