golf

Abigail gears up for her first game of mini golf....on an absolutely beautiful spring day.

She shows great promise already . . . as does Jamie, who played a remarkably good mini golf game despite the obstructed view with the baby carrier on his front.

smiles

We've been enjoying sporadic smiles from Abigail for the last couple of weeks, and it's fun as they're becoming more frequent . . . still hard to capture on film though! She's often smiley after waking up from naps, like in the video. The background noise is her new ocean waves soundtrack to create some white noise when she's falling asleep - we had been using radio static which Abigail loved, but after being so reliable for weeks our static stationsuddenly disappeared and we can't find another one (!!) only strange music or sports broadcasts, which definitely do not have the same soothing effect.

ode to ergo

Observant blog-trackers and anyone who has seen us in person will know that we (Sarah, Jamie, and most importantly Abigail) LOVE our Ergo baby carrier and that it gets A LOT of use. Indeed, this is often the only place Miz A likes to nap, and being all snugged in the carrier usually does the trick when baby calming is needed. Abigail has spent a significant portion of her life so far in the carrier, and while we don't really need more photo documentation, here it is anyways.... (p.s. - sadly, we receive no special perks or benefits from Ergo for this posting...however if given the opportunity, I'm sure Abigail would be happy to offer more views and anecdotes as a satisfied customer...)

grandparents come to town

Abigail enjoyed a visit from her grandparents this weekend . . .

and when Monday morning rolled around she was sad to see them go . . .

Meanwhile, our feline friend keeps tabs on the action in the downstairs guest room - Abigail seems to be paying close attention. It won't be long until she'll be bigger than him!

life in the rainforest

In the pre-baby preparation phase I (Sarah) was skeptical about whether we really NEEDED a pack & play for the first floor of the house. Jamie's instincts were right though and it is well worth the dining room real estate space it occupies . . . Abigail loves hanging out in here and keeps a close eye trained on the rainforest mobile, and this has provided her parents with many dinners without crying or baby-holding, just rainforest fascination...

the zoo

Yesterday Abigail snoozed peacefully through her first trip to the zoo . . . we checked in on many critters, including the pandas who were enjoying some bamboo snacks on a springy day.

Back at home, Abigail spent some post-dinner time having some deep thoughts about
the trees in the front yard....

A few minutes later, little bundle in a blanket put on her worried (but cute) face...

head of hair

Abigail's hairstyles vary from day to day - keeps things exciting and unpredictable. This was a particularly puffy moment. In addition to growing fast, her hair also seems to be lightening up and getting a little bit red. Stay tuned.

Little A enjoys a good perch, up on her papa's shou
lder, where she can keep an eye on what all is going on at home . . .
