Abigail is ready for fall....

So after rice cereal, Abigail has ventured into the world of sweet potatoes, carrots, and peas. And now water - out of a sippy cup no less! All of this is tremendously exciting (and messy) and we just have to yelp about it all the time!

After all of the comments from strangers that we should "put a bow in her hair!" . . . here is a modified version, with twist-tie, since there was no ribbon to be found. (For the record, doing the hair of a squirmy baby is not easy.)

Thank goodness papa came home, otherwise we would have just had these bird's eye views of the hairdo.

Big times here! Rice cereal was featured on the menu for the first time ....

Abigail's favorite part is the spoon. Not sure how much food is actually going down the hatch, but she's slowly getting the hang of it...

Drinkable food is still preferred.

And good old Booey. He can't wait until Abigail starts eating cheese - he will surely be nearby to take care of any scraps that hit the floor. Rice cereal he's not so fond of.

Floor time is even more exciting now . . .

Between this and barrel rolling, she can really get around now, making everyone's lives that much more exciting!

Her crib is one favorite place to practice . . . we've since lowered the mattress just in case practice might lead towards a launch out of the crib.

6 months!

Later on that same rainy day, Auntie Clare came over for a visit . . . we are so lucky that she is close by and comes over often!! (You may also notice Jamie on the phone in the background with the computer technical support people . . . first of many such calls!)

We had lots of fun with friends on the day that Hurricane Hanna blew through . . .

Well, we won't bore you with the details, but although our computer woes are not completely resolved, we seem to have found an intermediate solution . . . Will start with some photos from almost a month ago now and put them up roughly in chronological order. Our little girl is getting big!

Friends, we are making progress with our great technological challenges of 2008. Hopefully by this weekend we will be able to share some more photos with everyone...there is much to report . . .

• Abigail is sitting up like a champ (still topples over occasionally, but hey, don't we all?),
• she celebrated 6 months of life today,
• she loves the swings at the playground,
• she's coming through her first cold (her parents seem to be suffering more than she does at this point . . . we didn't realize how lucky we were with such a good sleeper until we started getting multiple night time wake up calls from Miz Stuffy-nose),
• she's had some good playtime with her cousins and other buddies,
• and with all of the chattering she's doing we know she can't wait to give everyone an update herself via the blog once we get everything back in order! Phew!

Dear blog-readers . . . Abigail & family are experiencing some technical difficulties, and blog posts will be postponed until we get them figured out. The diagnosis from the helpful tech support people was: "hard drive is dead". Luckily baby pics were backed up (let this be a lesson to other digital photo folks out there)! But until we find a new computer to come join our happy family, we have no way of liberating the cute new baby pics from the camera. We're working on it! Stay tuned - Sarah, Jamie & Abigail
