fall fun
On a chilly fall morning, sporting pjs and a winter hat, Abigail plays in the sandbox lid....
...and on top of the sandbox....
...and with her dump truck....
...and rides her tricycle.
Back inside, potty time continues, though not as impressively as our first weekend. We're still plugging away...
Nate channels baby-Abigail by wearing her old clothes and playing with one of her favorite baby blankets.
For comparison, here's Abigail wearing the same overalls at pretty much exactly the same age. We think Abby wins in the hair quantity but Nate has her beat in size. He's stretching out those overalls a little more than A did at 2 months.
Big girl Abby has Po smile for the camera while she prepares his favorite food: quinoa. Who knew?!
Nathaniel is a good sport and models Abby's bee hat. After much discussion, this year for Halloween Abigail has decided to be a bumble bee again. Luckily the costume still fits! Last year she absolutely did not want to wear it and many tears were shed. What scene will unfold this year? Only time will tell....
Friends come to visit! Dorigen, Rosie, Elizabeth, Nate and Sarah all catch up amongst kid chaos and baby cries. Nate enjoyed spending time with all of the ladies....

a day in the country
Here's Abigail, ready to report on her Saturday adventures . . .
We hopped in the car for a drive to a winery . . . Abigail did a good job reading books to herself in the car. ("Self, self, self" is a common phrase heard from Miz A these days...)
Taking a closer look.
What a beautiful day, and a beautiful place. Here are fellow picnic-ers and wine-tasters. Abigail made the rounds and visited each table at least once.
Taking a stroll after Mama did not take up Abigail's suggestion to "swim swim swim" in the lake. Always worth asking . . . you never know when she'll say yes.
Then Abigail found a footrest for a chair that was a great makeshift slide. Fun times!
Up she goes.
Made it to the top.
Slide on down.
Land, and repeat.
Then we were off for a walk.
Unfortunately we could not convince any of the friendly cows to come any closer, no matter how much we said "moooooo".
Abby heads off for one last jog in the grass before we packed up the car and headed home.
