Happy New Year everyone!

We still need to do a blog catch-up with Christmas pics and other events...but until then, a glimpse into New Year's Eve chez nous this year. Abigail was feeling festive, and Nate is happy to be along for the ride. Wishing a happy and healthy 2011 to all!

We are back from Atlanta, our bags are unpacked. More photos to follow, but first . . . a shot from our Christmas-on-Tuesday celebration at home. One child hopping and flopping, the other chilling and chewing.

It really is hard to photographically capture Nate's post-bath hair. But that doesn't stop us from trying.

Nate is also seeming to feel very toothy lately, and we can see the faint outlines of two teeny teeth in his lower gum. Could be a while before they bust their way through, but good old Nate sure is trying to help them along by chewing on everything/everyone within reach.

In other news, Nate's eyes seem to be turning brown, and there is some fresh little fuzz connecting his two eyebrows. The beginning of a unibrow perhaps? Like father like son.

cousins, part deux

Dan and Anna and Walter came back for another visit on their way home from California.

Nate was awake for more of this visit. Walter will be one year old next month, and he just wants to wiggle!

We attempted to get a photo of all three cousins at the same time...but first, Abby and Walter had a spontaneous wrestling match on the floor. At first we were concerned Abby was using her size to her advantage, but Walter was holding his own.

And then, all of those who are able to roll did just that and were off to the next event.... wee Nate the only one who stays where you put him...

major milk milestone

Nate took a bottle! At home! From papa! It was only about 1.5 ounces, but we all celebrated this big achievement....Nate in his bouncy seat!

We thought he was going to get himself flipped from back to front, but not this time...

Tummy time, and size comparison. The other day Abigail was being exceptionally quiet in the other room while mommy was feeding Nate, only to emerge triumphantly with no pants on and wearing one of Nate's diapers. So we know it can be done.

Nate joins us at the dinner table for the first time! Abigail kept trying to find something on her plate to share with Nate...a few more months and he'll probably be just about ready to take her up on the offer.

Cousin Walter (and Uncle Dan and Aunt Anna) came to visit! They were flying out to San Francisco for a meeting so were just here for a couple of hours en route to airport. But they'll be back next weekend for a longer visit. Nate snoozed through most of this visit. Abby and Walter have both grown a lot since last time they saw each other in March!

It was so fun to see Rosie and her mama again today! It had been a while since our last playdate...

Nate was so excited his hair stood up!

Babies flashed each other some grins and enjoyed sleeping, eating, and lying on the floor. Oh the life of a 3.5 month old....

"Yeah, we've got necks. We just don't want to show them to you."

Oh, and the littles didn't get to taste them, but mommies enjoyed yummy apple and cheddar scones. Abigail loved them too.
