summerish-spring
What a warm spring this year! Looking forward to the trees growing some leaves so we have a little shade chez backyard again.... in the meantime, Nate seeks shelter in the little casa and leads us through the hand motions for "head, shoulders, knees, and toes"!
Nate's new favorite activity... don't try to offer him a hand. If he could say "self, self" he certainly would. Flashbacks to Abby at this age when "self, self, SELF!" was a very common phrase.
It was "N" week at school and they made noodle necklaces! And one of Abby's preschool pals let her borrow this fancy pearly necklace for 2 days!

spring preview
Springy weather is poking up here and there, along with lots of blossoms. Family hike last weekend.... Nate enjoyed it more than it looks in this picture. He pointed out every single one of the (very, very) many doggies we saw along our walk!
On another warm night, our first patio dining of 2012. Must do this as often as possible before the dreaded mosquitoes arrive and we need to seek shelter in screened-in areas (or inside).. Here, Nate sees an airplane.
Nate is an awesome airplane-spotter. And also really enjoys moon-spotting too! Thanks Nate!

and we're back
After two solo-parenting stints (Papa and Mommy both got a turn) and a solo-grandmaing stint (thanks Grandma!) we are happy to be back to our family-of-four routine! A few stray photos....:
Nate tries a frozen peach slice.
Kebabs, corn, and frozen peaches. What could be tastier?
Grandma and Abby play hide-and-seek with a frisbee in the backyard. Abby is always more than happy to tip you off as to where she is hiding / where the frisbee is hiding...
Found ya frisbee!
Abby counts out three fingers to tell us how old she is.
Papa and Abby's pebble project by the sandbox....

more garden shots
Belated pics from last weekend's garden visit . . . the azaleas were still in bloom!
We saw some baby geese....
Geese really are kind of funny looking.
Abby found a house in the woods with little mushroom chairs.
And Papa helped Abby play with the water in a fountain (or "mountain" as Abigail calls it).
What a fun butterfly chair!
Good thing A's hat isn't green or we might have lost her in this sea of leaves.
