farewell dee dee
Today would have been Dee Dee's 102nd birthday! She passed away peacefully a week ago today, surrounded by love. Dad and Aunt Jennifer did such a good job sending her off into the next chapter. We will miss her and remember her forever.
Jane Stevens King - October 17, 1923 - October 10, 2025. A few photos of her below. How lucky we were to have her with us for such a long time! Longtime readers of this blog will also know that Dee Dee was our most loyal follower, often checking the blog several times each day looking for updates. In the last few years she was not as capable with the computer, but Dad/Grandad made sure she still saw the latest posts. Her obituary is a beautiful remembrance of her long life.

bday soiree
Abby had a birthday gathering a couple of weeks after her actual birthday, but lucked into some pretty nice weekend weather! Arts and crafts and good times had by all.
action shots
A rare weekend daytime lacrosse game vs Gonzaga Prep (all the way from Spokane)! Avery's dad takes great pictures of the players in action.
college visits begin!
Abby and I had a great visit to Claremont, CA to check out the Claremont colleges! We got lots of steps in walking around the beautiful campus (farmers market, art museum, quad, and more), enjoyed exploring the Claremont village restaurants and shops (yummy tex-mex lunch), checked out some nearby hiking trails, stayed in a fun hotel, toured Scripps (gorgeous buildings, smart student ambassador tour guides, and a pool!), and went to an information session at Pomona. All around a good way to dip our toes in the college visit waters and we both learned a lot! A good warmup for our spring break east coast college visit trip that is coming up soon.
