We had a great dinner out with Jessie and her parents last weekend. (Evidently, it was red pants day for the toddler set!) After dinner we went exploring . . . They knocked on a few doors . . .
Anyone there?
It's hard to get two two year olds to look at the camera at the same time.
Then they went window shopping . . . and checked out some books.
And wow, what an interesting display of Captain Morgan spiced rum!
It really is hard to believe that Abigail is 2 years old already! It seems like every day she's doing something new, or saying something funny, or testing out a higher intensity temper tantrum, or just making us laugh with her silly sense of humor or funny expressions. We had Abigail's 2 year check up (shot free..yay!) and found that she is 31 lbs (91st percentile) and 38 inches (99th percentile), so still a big girl. Previous stats are here, though the 18 month numbers seem to be missing from the blog archives....hmmm.
After waking up from a nap recently, the first thing Abigail said when she woke up was "Po likes cheese!" And then when A's mommy was picking her up from her crib she patted mommy's head and said with great excitement, "Mommy has a head!" (I should hope so....) And to top it all off, she proceeded to pick her nose and look at her finger and say "Good morning booger!"
Abigail is very into mail these days, and asks every day to "open Abby's mail" (which is usually...shhhh...a credit card offer or other piece of junk mail). So imagine her excitement when this giant envelope arrived in the mail, addressed to her!
What we lack in terms of speed of posting vacation pics we are making up for with quantity of photos ... Here's A on a hike enjoying digging in the sand. So much fun! We think we see a sandbox in our future.
Walter takes a rest under the umbrella with his parents.
Out for a stroll in the desert . . . this old clunker of a stroller sure came in handy, but all-terrain it was most definitely not!
This was a great trip for being together and celebrating family members young and old (and many other ages in between).... Here we are having a delicious brunch at Tohono Chul Park tea room.
Afterwards we took a walk around the gardens.
Who are those cuties under those hats? Abby hitches a ride with Grandad.
Abigail test drives the rental mini-van. Just think, in 14 more years, she might be driving on her own......
Dee Dee and Pop Pop, we hope the rest of your vacation in Arizona is fun! We miss everyone.
It was so fun for us all to meet Walter! Abigail particularly enjoyed observing and narrating diaper changes.
Bath time! Abigail was impressed that Walter was taking a bath in the sink. What a cutie! Walter was 2 months old on the same day that Abby turned 2 years old.
Hi Abby, Hi Walter.
Whoa, we're related?!
Holding Walter was a popular pastime....here he is snuggling with Grandad.
We're back from a fun trip to Arizona! We saw lots of people and sights and Abigail turned 2!
Speaking of two . . . we took two airplane flights to arrive at our Tucson destination. The only way Abigail would let us buckle her seat belt (at the urging of the flight attendants) was if Po was buckled up on her lap. This was the first time Abigail was a full-fare airline passenger with a seat fully to herself.
When we got there, we saw Dee Dee and Pop Pop and Grandad and cousin Walter (and not pictured, but also there: Grandma, Aunt Anna, and Uncle Dan!).
We went for lots of walks.
Uncle Dan, Aunt Anna, and Walter tucked in Ergo, with AZ mountains.
Sunny skies and lots of cactus.
Abigail was impressed by this orange tree. And now when we see an orange she lets us know that "Oranges grow on trees."
We had a great dinner at the Robertson's Arizona abode.
And after dinner we went for a walk . . .
. . . and on our walk, we saw lots of deer! A trip highlight for sure!
