Little Natester takes advantage of big sister's naptime to bang out a tune on the toy piano, which when Abby is around is referred to as: "MYYYYYYYYYYYY piano!!"
Farewell (almost) to January! We're hoping that February is a healthier month (Christmas cold lingers on!) and brings us a little closer to a new rhythm with our days now that we have two worker-bees in the house again. We stuck close to home this weekend......Abby tries on Papa's gloves:
You may also notice that Abby is wearing her swimsuit over her clothes. You probably wouldn't have guessed that she also slept in it (over jammies) on Friday and Saturday night! Tonight she is snoozing swimsuit-free upstairs in her bed. Maybe she's still dreaming of summer though. Even after hearing a couple of months ago about fellow troublemaker Annabelle's sudden wintertime love for her swimsuit, we did not tuck Abby's swimsuit far enough back in her closet for it not to become an item of interest.
After dinner and before bath-time, Abigail finds all sorts of things to keep her busy. She plays the piano with Papa....
So much fun to open and close the keyboard lid (especially while Papa is playing!).
"Hmmmm....what next?"
"I know! Follow me....."
Abigail's special corner, with Shiraz's scratching post and the plant (which includes a pot with DIRT!)
Then, Abigail explores Papa's briefcase and scores a newspaper....
Newspapers are so exciting...! Off Abigail runs to keep her new find safe and sound.
And, just because it is so fun to look back and see what we were up to a year ago today . . . here we were, seven weeks old and showing some signs of fuss!
And more fuss...
Abigail demonstrates that yes, her lungs really do work.
Also - we realized that the blog is over a year old....happy birthday blog, we think you're pretty fun.
PS - Abigail has been busy in the tooth department - her fourth top tooth is emerging, completing the 4 on bottom, 4 on top look. And a second molar is poking through the gummy gums - the other molar hasn't made much progress since its initial debut....stay tuned.
PPS - Welcome baby Alistair!!! (He has a head of hair quite similar to someone else we know. . . ahem, Abigail)! We can't wait to meet you!
When you're Abigail and you're an early riser, there's nothing stopping you from accomplishing a lot before it's even 7am! Like reading a book while standing up . . .Rear-view.
And playing piano with Papa, a little residual bed-head thrown in for good measure.
Someone was excited to be tickling the ivories . . .
Focused . . .
And a big grin for Papa . . . "thanks for filling in where I missed a few notes!"
And, not really about our morning routine, but we are loving all of the Christmas cards that arrive this time of year . . . and in updating our own list this year and getting newsy bits from friends all over, we've realized that we know a lot of babies born in 2008. 16 (including A) to be precise! Abigail has a lot of buddies of the same vintage, some of whom she has yet to meet in person due to geographical challenges . . . here they are, in order of arrival: Jessie, Georgia, Sahana, Abigail, Lily, Maya, Sada, Kai, Eloise, Clay, Evelyn, Rohan, Charlie, Annie, Grace, and Emilia. Wow. That's 12 girls and 4 boys for anyone counting. And with more friends announcing news of impending 2009 arrivals, we expect another busy baby year ahead!
