porch fun
Abby reads "Princess and the Potty" to Blue. If you didn't know that she had the book memorized, you'd think she could read!
Saucer time!
Squishy toy time!
Hello cuteness.
abby+po+obama=?
See that blur? That's Abby and Po flying through the air over their "Obama pool"!

Abby takes a running leap.
A mid-air jump with Po above her head. (Hard to capture all of this action on film. Sorry, Po, that you got cut out of the picture.)
And they've landed.
Again!
Close-up of Po after a particularly dramatic landing. Notice Po is borrowing Nate's Batman "I'm not afraid of the dark" onesie. (Thanks Archer!)

mischief
This scene from breakfast pretty much sums up the mischief quotient in our house these days.
Abigail likes to MAKE HER OWN OATMEAL in the morning with NO HELP, which she can only sort of actually do so it requires strategic parental hovering. Nate still loves all things pureed and generally rejects anything with any more texture than yogurt (except for kleenex and other paper products which he would happily eat all day if we let him). Although today, newsflash: Nate at a small piece of pancake and part of a blueberry! Major breakthrough in the texture department!
matchy matchy
Nate and Abby watch carefully as Mommy tries to cajole smiles out of the matching-shirt bunch. Nate says: "What is she doing?!"
Nate says: "No really, WHAT is she doing?"
Watching crazy mommy while the book falls off of her head.
Hilarious!
Little do these little cherubs know, but their parents snuck out to a movie last night while they were sleeping, thanks (many, many thanks) to a gracious, spontaneous, much appreciated babysitting offer by Auntie Clare! Yayyyy!

b.k.t. (big kid tub)
Welcome to the big kid tub, Nate! Abby washes Nate so gently.

Nate LOVES this development. Goodbye little blue bathtub, we're all done with you! This is one of the first milestones that Nate has reached before Abby - she was over a year when she bid adieu to the blue baby tubby back in April 2009!
The clean team loves to splash.
We hope this means a summer full of pleasant bathtime, to wash off these sweaty days!

strollin
Happy Friday! What a beautiful day for a stroller ride! Mommy had the afternoon off, and Nate's pal Rosie and her mama came over to play/stroll/eat/nap/etc! (Note Nate's hand placement: on stroller wheel. Later in our walk this would prompt a change in stroller seating configuration.)

We forgot to take a picture of Nate and Rosie together in all of their 9.5 month old glory! (Here's a pic of the dynamic duo back in April at 8 months old.) But this pic was snapped of the whole bunch preparing to head out for a stroll.
When Nate could not be convinced to stop touching the stroller wheel (time to install the wheel guards apparently....) we made the great switcheroo. Turns out Abigail loves sitting in the "back seat", and Nate enjoys the front.

pre-bath, summer edition
Hellllloooo summer! Naked siblings prepare for post-dinner bathtime. Nate decides he'd like to grab Abigail's beloved mashup (berry beet flavor).

Abby decides she'd like to keep her special treat (reward for going poo poo in the potty - yay Abby!) to herself. She should have reminded Nate that he slurped down his own mashup at dinnertime.... apple/blueberry/carrot flavor.
PS - we're surely jinxing ourselves by saying this on the blog, but it seems that Abby has fully adopted the potty lifestyle. She's been dry all day for a couple of weeks now. And dry during naps. And usually dry when she wakes up in the morning (though we are still using pull-ups at nighttime). Hooooray for Abigail!!

three three year olds
What a fun Memorial Day brunch with three 3 year olds! Bella, Abigail, and Emma had lots of fun playing inside and outside, splashing in the kiddie pool, eating bagels, playing in the sandbox, running around, taking care of their baby dolls, having a picnic, talking a lot, etc etc. Their parents all had fun too. (So did Nate, until he decided it was naptime and crashed for his afternoon snooze.)

Eating lunch at the froggy table! More fun with friends!
