Nate and I went to the Sounders game with our friends Melissa & Jaden today! They won 4-0 and we had great seats, super company and a wonderful time!

Added/updated electric wall heat, re-wired electrical to improve lighting and outlet situations and bid farewell to more wood paneling... Abby chose a lovely sage color for her walls "Pop Quiz" and Nate chose a vibrant blue "Utah Sky". I was proud of myself for fitting IKEA bedframes and cubby dressers for both in my car and assembling them all in the kids' rooms. (Up a very narrow and steep flight of stairs.) And we recently made progress on the reading nook at the top of the stairs in between the kids' rooms. Twinkle lights for the win.

Both bathrooms needed some cosmetic updates... Kept the tubs in both bathrooms, kept smaller bathroom toilet, and left everything in the same places but otherwise, everything is new.

My least favorite room when I was thinking about buying the house, this is now a nice place to hang out. Bye-bye wood paneling, hello recessed lighting, new floors, and fresh paint. And the TV fits in the closet (much to my contractor's dismay/disbelief about that choice)...

Lighting isn't the best in my photos but in addition to new floors and fresh wall paint, Dan and I peeled the faux wood laminate off all of the cabinets and painted them white. And I put new knobs on. Otherwise, for now I kept all the appliances, counters and cabinets.

Looking from the dining room to the office/living room area. Changed the closet into built in bookshelves (and made my adjoining bedroom closet bigger in the process 🙂). Floors and paint and furniture make a big difference.
