We had one day of complete-Abigail-outerwear . . . boots, snowsuit, jacket, hat, mittens . . . the works. Every other day at least one of these items has been tearfully avoided.
Abby takes good care of her doll, Betsy. Here Abby holds Betsy (and Betsy holds Miffy) and A gives B a bottle.
Papa built a snowman right outside the porch window! WOW!
Look at that snowman!
The never ending shoveling job continues.
Papa & Abigail take a walk.
Papa dug another path - this one on the patio.
Abby jogs to the end of the path to check out the snowy yard beyond... all she really wanted to do was walk on top of the snow (and it sure looked like it would have worked) but alas, when you are about 3 feet tall and the snow is almost the same height, you sink a long ways when you venture off the path.
Abigail wonders when she'll be able to play in her house again....
We celebrated Valentine's Day, and Papa's birthday.
Abigail and her best pal Akaash getting ready to start the day.
And last, but not least, a Saturday morning outing to Borders where we read some books and attended a birthday party for Elmo...many songs sung and books read by a lot of small ones and their parents. (The best part was we ran into Akaash and his family there!)
Abigail sports a not-often-seen (for her) hairstyle: the ponytail.
Hmmmm where did my hair go?
Abigail became very involved with feeding Po breakfast...he had waffles with syrup and blueberries - just like Abigail did that morning! Coincidence, or more?!
Po's meal was very well narrated by Abigail and occasionally parents were called in to put more syrup on Po's waffle or wipe his face. But otherwise, it was all Abby.
With two feet of snow on the ground outside and more falling, we are getting creative around here. Example: Abby's fort.
Surrounded by pillows and stuffed animals (and mommy), Abby pretends to be sleeping. This was some nice calm playtime...things got a little more lively in the fort later on....
Good thing we've got Abigail to help out in the kitchen.
"What, this isn't how you do dishes?"
Actually, it seems she's really trying to take a sip out of the faucet. So tempting. And leads to some stool acrobatics.
Sometimes when it looks like this outside....
... you need to have this for dinner. Maybe if your stomach thinks it's summery out the latest blizzard will give way to sunny skies and highs in the low-70s.
In case anyone was wondering, spring is not here yet. We are hunkered down in the midst of the big blizzard which has been quite dramatic! Here's Abigail practicing singing "Happy Birthday to Grandad" before we Skyped with them earlier today! Hope you have a great rest of the day Grandad!!
Just peeking, and reading.
Snow drifts through the porch window.
Patio furniture and A's little backyard house, snowed in.
Snow, snow, snow! It would seem we've got over 2 feet of it so far.... After hearing stories of other trees falling over under the weight of the snow, Jamie decided that we should do something about it....like shake the snow off the branches. Here the trees are "before shaking":
And "during shaking" - the big one on the left still needs attention. There's papa heading that way.
Let's zoom in and take a closer look at the tree shaker.
All done!
Abby enjoyed watching this project from the cozy comfort of the porch with mommy.
"I'm going to touch the camera now..."
"Oh! You're taking my picture! I should smile and say cheeeeeeze!"
Double ear infection and conjunctivits are keeping Miz A at home these days.... Between illness and another massive snowstorm approaching (12-20 inches?!) we are getting creative with our indoor activities... like tugging on stuffed monkey's tail. Very fun. Short but sweet video clip since we ran out of camera memory mid-tug.
